Taking their seats in the room ready for the meeting, Persephone looked at Triton sideways still unsure of why he was here.
Triton simply kept on smiling.
"What are you doing here, Triton?", she asked.
"I'm with your team on assignment to help search for Captain Amy", he replied while glancing at the rest of the members arriving in the room, then back at her curious face.
"You are"? Persephone was taken back for a micron, but pleased more than she could say at that moment, to have him part of her team. The two of them smiled at each other, without another word for the moment. They sat back in their chairs and waited for the meeting to begin.
But Triton dying to just feel the touch of Persephone's hand, he very slowly reached over to her hand by her side, and placed his upon hers, careful for no one to notice. "So how are you feeling today?" he spoke softly. The others seemed interested in their own conversations for that centon.
The touch of Triton's warm hand felt so good, she closed her eyes just for a split micron and enjoyed it, letting out a deep sigh, before replying, "I'm fine. Even better now that you're here". The two warrior's eyes met in a subtle caring gaze. Triton removed his hand, as the other members were approaching their seats.
"I'm glad to hear it."
"Tri...I have some news to tell you. So much happened yesterday, I scarcely know where to begin".
"What is it, Pers?" his blue eyes gazed further at her intensely.
"My brother...Ganymede. He's ....he's alive".

Triton was taken back with her words for a moment. "What?" he queried, confused.
Persephone just gave him a hopeful smile, before replying, "My Brother, Gany, he's alive...my mother told me".
"Okay, Pers, now you've truly lost me. You say your mother told you?? Just what did happen on that shuttle flight to Hades Hole yesterday?"
"It's a long story, and one that I don't have time to get into right now."
"Well, you don't just drop a volton of information on a person like that and then say you can't talk about it now...."
"Shhh...the meeting is about to start. I'll tell you about it when I can, Triton".
Glances were shot between the two lieutenants, as everyone settled down for the meeting, but Persephone had the last glance, so to speak, as she smiled at Triton in the way she knew he couldn't stay perplexed at her for long, not when she smiled so sweetly at him.
He leaned over and said in a low tone, "You've got a lot of explaining to do when we're on the shuttle ride over to the Agro ship, missy".
Persephone 's mouth dropped, then she returned to being amused at him. Triton just shook his head and leaned back in his chair. He knew he couldn't be mad at her for even a micron, his feelings for her gave way all too easily, a smile crept back across his face.

Even stuck back in the Gold Squadron Ready Room, the increase in activity was evident. Boots on the deck outside the door were loud and hurried. Voices raised in excitement and attention to orders broke the seals around the door and filtered into the room.
The Warriors and Lt. Baris all exchanged looks and shuffled in their chairs. And Logan almost pulled a muscle in her neck when she turned to look in shock at Brik when she felt the pull of the huge ship. She knew that it was something that shouldn't have been possible, but she had always 'felt' when the Callisto had gone into a jump.
Unable to take it any longer, Logan rose to her feet, uncrossing her arms and letting them fall to her sides with more force than was necessary. "That's it," she muttered.
Brik had also rose and gave his friend a commisserating look, but one that also spoke of patience, the one thing he knew Logan retained in limited quantities.
Just as her finger hit the comm unit on the wall the door to the room slid open and Commander Sheba stood poised in the doorway, a resigned expression on her face. She looked like she was going to deliver bad news and Logan's hand hung in midair as if waiting for permission from the Commander to lower.
Logan's fierce green eyes met those of her superior officer and held them. The Captain didn't like what she found there.

Although he looked at his long-time friend with a silent plea for patience, Brik knew that he pleaded it for himself as well as for Logan.
He had no eagerness to hear whatever bad news was surely to come, heralded by that look on Sheba's face.

Sheba nodded at Logan and scanned the room, noting everyone seated.
"Captain," the Commander said simply.
"Commander Sheba," Logan replied. She had her head tilted to one side in an unspoken question that she didn't really want the answer to. Glancing at Brik, she saw the same steely gaze she had become accustomed to over the yahrens and knew he was thinking the same thing.
Sheba gestured towards the other Warriors and said, "Captain, we can get started with the briefing now."
As much as she wanted to let loose a stream of questions and complaints, Logan bit her lip and crossed over to her previous seat beside Brik. Hush was looking at her with some concern. She attempted a smile but knew from the downturn of his set lips that her attempt at reassurance was weak.
The silence in the room was like a blanket, covering them all with an uncomfortable heat and no comfort.
Sheba straightened at the front of the room and spoke in calm measured tones, only pausing to make eye contact with each of them to reinforce the weight of her words.
" As you may have guessed, the Fleet has made a jump. This wasn't done lightly or without a great deal of thought from the Command Staff. I have talked with Commander Apollo at length about our decision. We have good reason for this, but I am not at liberty to discuss it in greater detail at this time."
Sheba looked pointedly at Logan then and the Captain knew that her position on the edge of her seat was the cause. Before Logan could say or do anything, the Commander continued. "The search for Major Brie was extensive and Major Skyler did all that was possible to locate her. No trace was found."
Sheba sighed deeply. "We have concluded that the Major was killed in the explosion."
Logan felt more than saw Brik hang his head beside her and she released a breath she hadn't even realized she had been holding.
"The mission to find Captain Amy will continue as planned. But with an added motive. Major Brie left all her possessions to the Captain and you will make sure that her final wishes are honored."
Logan sat with her elbows on her knees, staring blankly at the deck. Every word that the Commander spoke seemed to travel through the air and land heavily in her stomach. She couldn't believe that the Major was really gone and only now admitted to herself that she had held out hope that if anyone could find her and bring her home alive, it was Skyler. Her heart ached for her friend as she knew what that loss must be doing to him. And her first instinct was to check the landing deck to make sure his Viper was there. She couldn't imagine him leaving the system without finding Brie.
She forced her head up and saw the anguish beneath the surface of Sheba's face. "Captains Logan and Brik, you will take your team to the Galactica for a briefing with Commander Apollo. He has some leads on possible locations Captain Amy may have been spotted. I have given him all the personal information I have and I'm sure the Agroship will be one of the places you need to check. Amy's mother is still there."
The Commander looked down briefly and swallowed hard. "You will be out of uniform and undercover for this mission under the guise of a scientific team from the Academy under the direction of Lt. Baris who will be posing as an official from the Medical Sciences Division. All the appropriate documents and verification codes will be given to you on the Galactica. Does anyone have any questions?"

Brik felt like a large weight had just landed on his heart, with no intention of moving anytime soon.
Although he had known in his head that this was all too likely, his stubborn heart had hoped...yes, even PRAYED...for some sort of miracle. He had been taught (and still believed) that when love and skill combined, a miracle could result. And Lords knew that Skyler had a wealth of both, particularly where Brie was concerned. But this...
His head remaining down, he raised his hand and spoke to Sheba. "I can only form one question, Commander, I don't think I can focus enough for more than that right now." His voice was choked and cracked as he spoke. He didn't notice, nor would he have cared if he had. "Where's Skyler?"

Meanwhile, Back On the Celestra: (we last left off here:) Decius twisted the circuit board around in his hand, looking at it with a sigh, then placed it back on the bench for the moment returning to the starfighter to continue with his duty.
Unbeknown to him, a tall man stood from one of the rafter walkways above the maintenance deck watching Decius at his work. In his hand he held a photograph. In the photo appeared Decius, but along side of him were two young girls. His sisters. He placed the photograph back inside the pocket of his jacket.
The watcher had a gentle face, and so wanted to make contact with Decius many times in the past, but held back for a reason. If only you knew who you really are, he thought to himself. Iltar, one of the Celestra's senior Tech's was making his way up to the rafter bridge that the mysterious watcher was observing repairs down below in the hanger bay from. "Hey Flight Officer Icarus, you here for maintenance for the Adina shuttle again?", he said to the man.
The watcher turned to Iltar to reply. " Yes, it's due for a service. I believe it's been 4 sectars since it's last one, and it's been a busy shuttle lately. How have you been Iltar?"
"Oh, I'm thinking about retiring soon. It's time I sit back and take it easy. I've been working on the Celestra for 30 yahrens....and between you and me, Icarus, electronics today are getting ahead of me now, I'm not up to keeping up with all the latest technology like I used to..."
"Well, your retirement will be well deserved, I'm sure, but I will be sad to see you go. You've always given me first class service on any shuttles I've brought over for work."
"Oh you'll continue to be in good hands with my fully qualified tech down there. Decius is one our best engineers on the Celestra."
"Yes, I can see that". Icarus turned to look back down at the young man working on the viper below.
Iltar saw the way his customer stared at Decius in an intense fashion, and asked, "Ah, have you met Decius?"
"Taking a sigh quietly, he answered smiling politely with "No, not as yet, but I have heard good reports of his repair work on the Adina's shuttle in the past". Icarus stood for a moment thinking, then turned back to the tech and asked him if anyone on the electronics ship knew Decius very well.
"The only person who knows Decius since he came to be with us is his good friend, Zorrin".
"Is it possible for me to met this Zorrin?"
"Well, it's his day off today, but...yeah sure I guess he won't mind a visitor. Follow me. Your shuttle won't be ready for another centare at least anyway."
The two men, headed to the worker's quarters on the next level.
Arriving at a door, Itlar showed Icarus through to the men's quarters. They found Zorrin reading at a table in the community room.
The Senior tech pointed Icarus in the direction of Zorrin. "I'll leave you to it", Iltar said before leaving the room.
"Thank you Iltar"
The shuttle pilot approached the young Tech at the table, and introduced himself, and preceded to open his inquiry about Decius.

His head remaining down, he raised his hand and spoke to Sheba. "I can only form one question, Commander, I don't think I can focus enough for more than that right now." His voice was choked and cracked as he spoke. He didn't notice, nor would he have cared if he had. "Where's Skyler?"
Logan's head came up as Brik spoke the question that was on her mind as well.
Sheba might have smiled if the situation wasn't so grim. These Warriors were more than just colleagues. they were family and she knew it. It reminded her of a time not that long ago when she had found herself thrown into a family of Warriors who took her in and made her one of their own.
"Major Skyler returned from patrol prior to the jump. I assume he is in his office but I haven't spoken to him yet. I'm headed there next for his report."
Logan knew that Skyler's report would be professional and beyond thorough. But she could only imagine the pain it would cause him to give it.
Logan cleared her throat, drawing the Commander's attention. "When do we leave?" She knew that Brik, for sure, and possibly Sheba, could decipher the unspoken part of the query. Will we have time to see Skyler?
"You leave by shuttle in six centars."
