I've been doing a little bit of rereading, and there are some fairly muddled lines. Could go old system, could go new. So let's just ignore the continuity blips (wow, and here I'm the Continuity Police!) and assume that Dolet launched after the jump. The RPG desperately needs to move forward.
Amy, I know that you haven't been around the past few days, but I'd love to know what you think.

Well, I think I'm writing solo for starters.  Not that we have many writers these days anyway, but I wanted to know if anyone wanted in on what I was doing, and I guess it's nobody. Which is fine, it was what I was asking. It was big headed of me to expect anybody to drop what they were doing just cause I had an idea. I hadn't thought about Dolet at all this week, but I'll try to get something together and post when I can. And it doesn't matter to me if this is all before the jump or after. I'd actually been picturing it the old series way, just rumbling through space a system at a time. I didn't mean to try and take over the overall direction of the Callisto story. I had a little bout of nostalgia and tried to think of something cool and exciting that might pump a little of that early-day enthusiasm back into things. I missed, and that's fine too. I'd pretty much written this thing off until that nasty nostalgia bug hit, so I should be the last one to try something like that to start with. So everything stays the way it is. It's what I wanted to know! |

Thanks, Al! Like I said, I wasn't trying to rock the boat, but trying to figure things out.
And Amy, I WISH I wasn't already involved in a story because writing with you would be great. The fact that you're writing here again at all has given me inspiration! I hope that more people will join in and have fun with us.

I'm ready to post. Got waylaid by real life as it were.  I'll contact you Amy or you Logan about what I've got planned for my characater. Minerva is also a member of Gold Squadron. Should I contact both of you? I'm not new to RPG, but. I want to make sure my character fits in well with the Callisto's storyline and timeline of the chapters here. |

Hmm...Minerva, I'm glad you are ready to post! We need new people and fresh ideas all the time. If you want to join in on either my storyline or Amy's (can't speak for her but you can ask her!), I'll fit you in. I do plan on having my team meet with Apollo and Starbuck on the Galactica, so if Minerva is there they could put her on the mission. I'm not sure why. lol Maybe you could come up with reason. Just let me know what you think. Sounds good to me. What I'm planning on writing is that Minerva has become a viper pilot and her Father Starbuck was against the idea and she wants to prove herself to him. Apollo has been encouraging her. What do you think? |

Sounds fine to me. Like I said, I plan on having Apollo and Starbuck meeting with the team as it is. It makes more sense now for Starbuck to be at that meeting if he's hesitant about Minerva joining the team...
Food for thought...if Minerva is a Viper pilot, what is the reasoning for her going on the mission? We'll be using a shuttle and besides Logan and Hush (as pilot and co-pilot of the shuttle), there won't be any flying involved.
Not trying to dissuade you, but if you want to do more writing based around her being a pilot, you might want to see if Amy's story is better suited.
Amy? What do you think?

Side note...Amy mentioned to me just yesterday that she might not be around much the next couple of weeks.
Um...isn't the majority of the mission team made up of viper pilots? Maybe StarDaddy (couldn't resist) pushed to get his kid on a non-viper mission, knowing first hand how dangerous being a new viper pilot is? My point being that it seems like there's room in either story, just gotta wiggle the details a bit. Or, this being original BSG, maybe I should say "waggle".

Hey guys,
Minerva, you could join my story if you wanted. Right now is a good time too. The Callisto just launched two vipers to investigate the one that went missing. It'd make sense if the Galactica launched a viper to join them. Totally cool either way you go.
The story from this side is that Lt. Dolet scouted ahead of the fleet and vanished. Nothing else is known.
I'm probably not going to be adding much any time soon, so there's plenty of time for your character to get launched, maybe have a great scene with Starbuck before she goes, that kind of thing. Then meet up with the 2 vipers that launched from the Callisto. Or not, totally up to you.
Have fun with it whatever you decide!
