I left the tension filled room once Brie's briefing was over. It would be difficult for her to get back going again, but she would handle it, she always had before...
now, I turned my thoughts to what had happened before...that strange furry thing I saw. I quickly left the bridge and returned to the landing bay area to search for whatever it was...

The flight from the Rising Star back to the Callisto didn't really take that long and before Ensign Plwel knew it, he was approaching the Callisto. The shuttle with Baer on board had just landed in Alpha landing bay. Plwel radioed the Callisto saying.."Callisto control this is Ensign Plwel in Escort Viper 1 on final approach and requesting landing instructions." A voice came back over the comm channel replying.."Escort Viper 1 you are cleared to land in Alpha landing bay." Plwel lined up his approach and reduced his speed as he smoothly floated into the bay opening and executed his landing. He taxied his Viper right along side the shuttle as directed by the flight deck crew.
As the canopy opened, Bouri saw that the passengers on board the shuttle had already begun to off load. Plwel removed his helmet and climbed down from his fighter to meet them. As he approached the shuttle door, Plwel extended his hand to thank Lt Jacobi, Ensign Andros and the security team for their assistance with the escort detail. Plwel took over responsibility of Bear and turned to him and said.."Bear, I would like to welcome you aboard the Battlestar Callisto......Have you ever been aboard a battlestar before?" Bear replied "No....I have not...but I have studied the technical schematics though in the computer archives. These battlestars are really remarkable pieces of technology. Where will we be going now Ensign?" Ensign Plwel smiled and answered "I will first be taking you to the bridge to meet up again with Major Skyler as instructed before we start your medical and personnel processing as explained earlier aboard the Rising Star." "Very good then Ensign Plwel.....please lead the way." Bear responded.
After processing through decontamination, the two of them made their way over to the main lift that would take them up to the main body of the ship. Ensign Plwel couldn't help but overhear many of the crew members and officers commenting abour Major Brie's return and that she was alive. Plwel didn't recall seeing a Major Brie on the squadron or Callisto command rosters when he first arrived. Whoever she was, her return was a big deal and Plwel looked forward to meeting her. As they reach the primary deck and stepped off, Bear commented.."I didn't realize that these battlestars were so big....it will take me sectars to learn this entire thing.....looking at schematics is one thing, but actually walking the corridors is another." Ensign Plwel sort of chuckled at Bear's remarks but didn't respond. He was actually a little concerned about what he had just heard. "it will take me sectars to learn this entire thing." Plwel was surprised that he spoke in a future tense like that. And combined with Bear's earlier statement that he had studied the battlestar's technical schematics in the computer archives had Ensign Plwel concerned about their guest's motives and intentions while aboard the Callisto. Plwel knew this is something he should bring to the attention of Major Skyer at once.
As Plwel and Bear turned the corner to walk down the main corridor towards the bridge, Ensign Plwel noticed Colonel Charybdis approching them. Plwel stopped and addressed the Colonel..."Sir...it is an honor to meet you finally. We have not formally been introduced yet, but I am Ensign Bouri-Plwel newly assigned to the Callisto and Gold Squadron. I just arrived back from the Rising Star on a mission for Major Skyler. Colonel, may I introduce Bear to you. He is a flight technician aboard the Rising Star." Without giving away the real purpose of having him there, Ensign Plwel also mention generally to Charybdis saying.."Major Skyler is hopeful he may be helpful with some of our ongoing investigations right now......

"Ensign, yes. I'm sorry we haven't had time to chat before. I like to make time to meet with all new Warriors coming aboard. Make time to come see me when you can, alright? By the way, have you all seen any small, furry creatures running around the landing bay?"
Ensign Plwel looked around as if he wasn't sure what to say. "Uh, no sir. No furry creatures that I've seen...but I'll keep my eyes open just in case," he said.
"Very well, carry on, Ensign...Mr. Baer." I nodded and moved off to keep up my search...

‘Major’ and ‘do whatever it is you’re really supposed to be doing’…. the person he considered himself closest too had just brushed him off. She didn’t even use his name. She blamed him for being left behind and rightly so. He should never of have stopped looking even if he had to go thru Apollo to do it.
“Brie, it is not what I am supposed to be doing, it is what I should have done….… I am sure you had a long journey and the children look tired and need rest. When you are ready to, you know how to reach me.” He left off what he was thinking, ‘if you ever want to talk to me again, if not I understand’. He stepped out of her way and allowed her to pass.

Brie could see the pain on Skyler’s face. She had hurt him, and part of her had meant to. But deep down…she took a couple of steps past him and then turned back to face him again. She smiled a half smile. “I told you I was having twins. I don’t know how I knew, I just did.”

Logan tried not to look in Brie and Skyler's direction upon exiting Sheba's office. They deserved some privacy and it took everything she had not to go over and try to make sure that Brie wasn't angry at Skyler and Skyler didn't feel guilty. It drove Logan mad sometimes that she couldn't fix everything. She thought that was one of the reasons she became a Warrior in the first place. Because she couldn't stop things from happening to the people she cared about, so she put herself in a position to do something. She went to the Academy and became a Warrior.
Shaking off the scene on the Bridge she stalked the corridors of the Callisto with purpose. Those Vipers would be ready. Gher had never let her down before. In fact, she had a suspicion that Sheba had sent her to the bay to keep her busy until time for the briefing. That was ok with Logan. She needed the distraction.
She couldn't help her thoughts racing through possible scenarios. If they went back through the rift and saved the pilots, what next? Would it be possible to take action against the Cylon's treachery before it actually happened? And what would be the repercussions of that? Would the Callisto even still exist after that? Where would her crew be if their lives hadn't been shattered by the chaos of that time? What about Kellie?
Shaking off the past, Logan suddenly became aware of that nagging tickle at the back of her neck. Taking in her surroundings for the first time since leaving the Bridge, she saw she was a deck above the bay, but not that far. She headed for the turboshaft.
She felt more than saw the person who was following her. She normally wouldn't let that bother her. It could be anyone. Brik playing around. Maybe Hush inadvertently being stealthy in his quiet manner. But her sense of danger was alerted.
She frowned and entered the shaft when the doors opened, turning to face the open entry. As the doors closed, a shadow fell on the corridor outside. The doors closed before the person was in view.
The doors were opening onto the bay level before Logan remembered to breathe and realized her hand was resting on her blaster.

Skyler watched as Brie walked past and continued towards the rest of the bridge. Even if she did blame him, he was glad she was back, a compromise he thought he could live with. She stopped an turned towards him and a half smile appeared on her face….
“I told you I was having twins. I don’t know how I knew, I just did.”
Skyler returned the smile and looked down at the little ones in their carries and back at Brie. “Its one of those things you just know. Call it Women’s Intuition, Man’s Gut Instinct or that someone came to you in a dream and told you, its one of those things you can not explain, and until you are holding the proof in child carriers, or it is standing in front of you, almost no one else will believe you.”

There seemed to be allot of activity go on abord the Callisto as Ensign Plwel and Baer approched the door to the bridge. As the door opened and they walked in, Plwel noticed a female warrior Major, carrying two infant carriers coming towards them. Ensign Plwel had not seen this Major before, but noticed that she was wearing Gold Squadrons colors and logo on her uniform. Bouri wondered to himself if this could be the Brie that he has heard everyone talking about and the reason Major Skyler was so anxious to return to the Callisto. Plwel and Baer stepped to the side as the Major approched the door. Plwel spoke to the Major..."Can I assist you ma'am to carry one of those wherever you are going?" The Major seemed to not even hear Plwel's words as she kept her face focused strait ahead and didn't even awknowledge him. As the Major exited and the doors closed behind her, Plwel refocused his attention back to Major Skyler who was standing thereby himself looking like something extrodinary had just happened to him. Ensign Plwel escorted Baer over to where Skyler was standing and reported in...."Sir, may I present Mr. Baer to you again. We have just arrived back from the Rising Star as ordered......sir."

Hearing Skyler mention the dream that she had told him about so long ago caught Brie by surprise. She found herself unexpectedly emotional, and she never liked being emotional. "Yeah, well, maybe it's about time that I stop listening to my dead husband. Excuse me, Skyler, I need to get to the med lab. I'll be there tonight, maybe we can talk later." Without giving Skyler a chance to respond she left, brushing past an ensign that she had never seen before. She thought that he said something to her, but didn't bother to listen. She just needed to get out from Skyler's line of view.
A few microns later she heard Major Jorlan calling her. "Major Brie, I've been asked to walk with you. Would you like me to help with your children?"
"I can handle it," Brie snapped at him. "Frack, I've been taking care of myself all these sectars, why is everyone acting like I'm about to break?"
"Maybe because you're obviously bitter and upset," Jorlan replied. "They did look for you, you know. From the reports I've read, Skyler had to be ordered off of the search."
"Yeah, I know." Brie took a long breath. "It's just…why am I under guard?"
"You're not," Jorlan said. "I'm just a friend walking another friend to the med lab."
"We're not friends, Jorlan," Brie said with a slight laugh. "And are you saying that I can walk the rest of the way by myself?"
"If you want," Jorlan replied. "Just expect me to be right next to you. And if we're not friends, what are we? We've come a long way, Brie."
"That we have." She paused. "You think you could get permission for me to see the reports? From the explosion and the search."
"That's a good idea. It could put your mind at rest, knowing that everything possible was done."
There were a few microns of awkward silence as they continued to walk. "What else is going on around here? There's a tension in the air, and I'm sure it has nothing to do with my return."
Jorlan thought long, not sure how much information he should give. "Some pilots are missing. One from Black, the others from Bronze."
"Cylons?" Brie asked.
"We don't think so. They're meeting soon on the bridge to figure out the next step in the search."
"Good," Brie said. They had reached the med lab. Jorlan opened the door and they entered. "Make sure you find them. It really stinks to be left behind."

GearBox finished the drink and slid a cubit across the bar. He pushed himself back and stood, his mind trying to make some sense of the confusion he was feeling. "I was more useful on the Garbage Scow," he thought. "At least there I felt like I was accomplishing something". He dreamed about being a Viper pilot for longer than he could remember. When he'd finally recieved his assignment to report to the Battlestar he'd thought that dream might finally come true. Now it just seemed like he was another face in the crowd. "I'm going back to the Garbage Scow," he thought. He pushed the button to open the manway and stepped in the corridor.
