I just heard this...very interesting...It seems that George Lucas' original plan about indie movies and standalone films with different writers and directors is finally going to come to fruition...
Could be pretty cool, although it suddenly seems like we are going to be inundated with more Star Wars that we can handle!!!

Hmm, very interesting...maybe that's the truth behind the rumors about bringing Darth Vader back...if it takes place as a prequel type situation, Darth is still alive and "hissing" as the article puts it...

My biggest fear is that they're going to overdo it. Take Air Bud for example. It was originally a cute little movie about a boy and his dog and they turned it into a series about talking puppies. Continuity also went out the window with it. I hope that Disney doesn't do that to our beloved Star Wars!

I think that genie is already out of the bottle...the filmmakers and writers aren't just going to stick to some novel that was put out 20 years ago in order to keep with the continuity. I think the timeline will be shattered, stomped on and set fire to in the end!!!

Well, no matter what they do with it, some will love it, some will not care and some will despise it...but it is their property afterall and they can do what they want to it. Hopefully they will not totally destroy it but you just can't please everyone in these days...

I'm not worried about continuity with the books and the expanded universe, that's going to get messed up. It already is, to some extent. (In the book Yoda was blue and wasn't Owen Ben's brother or something like that? I haven't read it in a long time.) I just hope they don't rewrite history and keep true to the originals.
Did you hear that Harrison Ford playing Han again for 7 is pretty much a done deal?
