I think solo and Skywalker kids are a no brainer, idea wise, but I'm thinking we will not recognize these kids. Luke may not have waited quite so long to have a kid. I'm hoping that it is a variation of Mara Jade, but I am a Jade fan.
I want Chewie alive. I need Chewie alive (I hated the comment from Lucas that Killing Chewie was like killing the Family Dog. Chewie is more then the Family Dag!!!)
I don't know, I just know Lucas seems to hate the EU. Even if it's making him money lol

From a marketing standpoint keeping Chewie makes sense. He's not only a much-loved character, he also makes great plush toys. Since it's now in Disney's hands he might be safe. As I mentioned before, not only is Peter M. a favorite at Star Wars weekends, but they even included Chewie in the updated version of Star Tours. The parks also sell TONS of Chewie merchandise. (Yes, my Walt Disney World obsession is showing...) When I read the scene in which they allegedly killed off our favorite Wookie I threw the book across the room. I left it there for a couple of days. I probably should not have treated a library book that way. It's going to be interesting. We're also at a time when it could be Solo and Skywalker grandkids instead of kids, after all Harrison Ford is 75. I haven't kept up on a lot of the EU and I bet that they're hoping that most viewers won't have. I know little about Luke and Mara, but I do know that she's another fan favorite. I remember in some poll she made it into the top ten favorite SW characters, the only non-movie character to do so.

Supposedly it's been leaked by George Lucas of all people that Mark Hamill has been signed.

Most of the major originals are on board, too, though Lando is missing. No announcement on Mara Jade or the kids, but there's been a good deal of discussion on boards about Daisy Ridley sitting between and hanging around Harrison and Carrie. starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-7-cast-announced.html

I was lucky enough to see Mark Hamill last weekend. Three times. Yup, I was in heaven. Anyway, besides having to grow a beard (that he couldn't stop playing with) he's not talking about the "low budget independent film" that he's making. He reminded everyone how you can't trust spoilers anyway and that the element of surprise is what made the originals so special.
I saw Peter Mayhew a couple of weeks earlier. The good news with him was that he's had a double knee replacement and is out of the wheelchair, although he was still using his lightsaber cane. He's also not talking about what is going on in London. Billy Dee Williams was there the same weekend as Mark Hamill and the new movies weren't even mentioned in his session. He wanted to talk quite a bit about V and VI, so he doesn't seem to be upset about anything.

Hey everyone...just checking back in here. It's been awhile now that the summer is over and we are back in session at school. Things are settling in to a routine at work again.
Can't believe that next month we'll be seeing new Star Wars (Star Wars Rebels cartoon on DisneyXD)...I will be teaching another round of my Star Wars class next spring! I think I will title it Ep. V The Professor Strikes Back! Should be fun since there is all the new hubbub about the tv show and the movie next December.
Star Wars is back baby!!!
