Artus looked at Charybdis first;
"Promoted two Yahrens ago? Must be my mistake, sir. I could have sworn..."
Then he looked at Amy;
"Miracle? What do you mean miracle? I'll admit I had a close call at Pangara Major Delta there just now, but for Sagan's sake, I wouldn't call it a miracle..."
Artus then took a good look at Amy.
His eyes widened.
"I know you were in sickbay when I left, captain, but what have they done to you?"

Pangara Major Delta? That was how long ago? He talks like it had just happened...
Amy looked confused, and turned to Charybdis. But he didn't look like he could clear things up any.
"I'm not sure what you mean, Artus" she said. "You were missing before I took the mission to the cylon moon. In fact you were part of the reason I took the mission. But Pangara Delta, that was quite a while ago..."

I could see the uncomfortable situation. I wasn't too sure what Lt. Artus had been through since he returned he had been confined to the Med Lab for observation.
"Lt. Artus, perhaps you should be back in your room. Do you have permission to be up and around?" I asked.

Artus looked from Charybdis to Amy and back. He was starting to feel a little light headed here.
"Cylon moon? Quite a while ago? I just came back. How long did those blackshirts keep me in there?"
In a reflex Artus'hand went to his hip, only to find an empty holster there.
"Permission te be up and about? Felgercarb. Is this some kind of Cylon trick? I'm fine, there's nothing wrong with me. "
Artus shrugged and spread out his hands;
"This is the Callisto right?"

"Of course it is" Amy replied. "Now please come in and sit down." Again she offered her hand, wanting to feel his touch and guide him to the chair next to the bed.
She still couldn't believe she was seeing him again. But there he was, though he seemed pretty confused. It was almost as if he'd gone through what she did: The coma, the long sleep, so much time missing... and now getting used to the fact that it was so much later than she thought, yeah, she could relate. Yet she wondered though, what could possibly make him think that way? That no time had passed when in fact so much really had?
She hoped he was okay. She really hoped he'd take her hand and sit. She looked over at Charybdis. "I can't believe he's right here in front of me. I'd given him up for lost..." She smiled at Artus. It was so good to see him. Her hand was out, reaching for him...

It was all getting a bit too much for Artus at that point. He felt a splitting headache come on, and the Colonial Warrior who thought he could take on the universe and easily win seemed further from his heart than ever before.
"I'm going to have to sit down..." he said, and in a reflex he took Amy's outstretched hand.
He wanted to say something but then the world turned white around him.

Amy took Artus's hand and suddenly felt light headed...
No, that wasn't it. It was something else. Powerful, a white glow, something she'd seen before... it seemed so familiar to her... calm, peaceful... comforting somehow.
And Artus was there, in that glow.
Amy smiled at the memory as she looked over at Charybdis. He was looking at the both of them, a puzzled look on his face...

Lt. Artus did not look good. I went to the door and called out, "Doctor, med Tech! Get in here on the double! This man is feeling ill."

Amy was in a daze as Artus sat down and she lost grip on his hand. The soothing memory remained however. A lightness of being, a comforting sound, it surrounded her, wrapping it's delicate fingers around her mind and taking away her fears.
She could see Charybdis yelling into the corridor, then coming back in to tend to Artus. But it seemed like in a dream to her. Everything did at that moment. She knew though that Artus was fine, physically anyway. She could still see him in her minds eye, all in white and surrounded by the soft white light, and knew somehow that he was experiencing the same thing.
But why she didn't know. Couldn't remember. And knew it was a waste of time to try. She just tried to hold onto the feeling as the light in her mind began to fade and the memory of the calming light with it. In a micron, all that remained was a feeling. A feeling of closeness, a connection to Artus.
A doctor came in, but not because of Charybdis's call. "Captain Amy, we're ready for you now" he said. Then he looked over at Artus. "Is he okay?"

"I don't think so," I replied. "He came in speaking in delusional phrases. He needs medical attention now."
The doctor looked back out the door and made a motion calling others over. He turned back toward Amy, "Captain. I'm afraid the time has come. The operating room is ready. We must begin the procedure at once!"
I looked at Amy with dread in my eyes...
