Amy nodded solemnly and got off the bed and into a wheelchair the nurse had ready for her. She looked small and pitiful as they wheeled her from the room.

And that was that...no goodbyes. No "I'll see you later," no nothing. They just quickly took her out to prep her for the surgery.
Artus was sitting there looking dazed and confused and I was left staring behind Amy as she went down the hall so they could kill our baby...

Artus was still staring at the white lights around him that appeared to have been triggered. He had no sense of where he was and how he got there. As a matter of fact he even had no sense of when he was. It seemed to him that suddenly everything was happening at the same time. He was sitting in the simulator aboard the Callisto, rewiring the thing because it wasn't doing what he wanted it to do. Then he was chasing a Cylon base ship over Pangara Major Delta just before he got shot. Then he was in the pilot's ready room playing Pyramid with Amy after he had first met her. Then he was swordfighting with the Tygran captain. Wait a centon, was that right? There he was in the back of a shuttle from the iceball of a planet trying to get the engine to hold togethere without the proper tools. There he was growing up aboard the...
Suddenly there was a man standing next to him, dressed in white. He looked at Artus and then said to him:
"It is time now. You have to tell him."
And suddenly Artus understood. He understood everything so clearly. He was back in Sickbay and saw as they were wheeling Amy out of the door. He stepped over to Charybdis and put a hand on his shoulder.
"I know it's hard, " Artus said to Charybdis in a soft vice; "but you will have to let her go."

I didn't know what it was, but there was a peace surrounding Artus and when he placed his hand on my shoulder, I felt it too. I had felt that before, someplace. I couldn't remember when, though.
Something was telling me that it was alright. I didn't have to be worried or didn't have to be sad about the events that were transpiring.
I couldn't explain it. I looked at Artus and said, "I know."

Artus walked to the other side of the room. He then turned to Charybdis again.
"You don't. But you will."
At that moment two med-techs came in.
"we were ordered to pick someone up here who was suffering from delusions?"
They looked from Charybdis to Artus and back. At that moment two blackshirts came storming in with their weapons drawn.
"There he is!"

"Wait!" I cried out. "Put your weapons down. This man is Lt. Artus. He isn't a danger to anyone. He just needs some rest, that's all. Take him over to his room and get him something to eat."
I walked over to Artus, "Lieutenant. Just get some rest. We'll have you back to your squadron in no time." I nodded and then walked out to go to the front desk so they could inform me when Amy would be out of surgery.
I walked out of the Med Lab...

I had to think of something else. Something to get my mind off of this...mess. I decided to go back to the bridge to check in with Commander Sheba and see if she had found out anything about Apollo's decision to attack the base star...

Artus felt as if he was slowly wlking through a tunnel and he was reaching the end. But unlike the usual dark tunnel where there is a light at the end, it seemed that this tunnel was the light and at the end there was darkness.
There were voices behind him.
"He didn't listen."
"I told you he wouldn't"
But when Artus turned around there was nobody there.
Suddenly Artus saw himself as a child on board the Rising Star. His father and mother were there as well. His mother was speaking to his father.
"Don't go on this mission. I have a bad feeling about this."
His father smiled and put his hand trough her hair.
"Don't worry, I'll come back. I always do."
Artus found himself standing in the sickbay of the Callisto looking at two apprehensive balckshirts and two medtechs. He suddenly realised that Charybdis had told him to get some rest.

Artus decided there and then that he would deal with the emotional felgercarb of the situation later. He stepped past the blackshirts.
"Where do you think you're going?" one of them asked.
Artus frowned.
"Didn't you hear what colonel Charybdis just said? I'm to go to my room and eat something."
The blackshirt growled.
"If you think your going to get away with what you just pulled so easy flyboy, you've got another thing coming..."
Artus backed away into the hall. From the corner of his eye he saw Brie stepping out of a room down the hall.
Artus gestured in her direction, seemingly unconcerned with the weapon now pointed at him.
"See, there's major Brie. She'll take care of everything...."
