As Ensign Plwel listened to what Major Skyler was saying, the name "Scapino" didn't ring a bell to him, and he thought that he knew most of the techs aboard the Rising Star while he was a shuttle pilot there. However, when the colonies were destroyed in the Cylon massacare, many who fled to the stars changed their names to make a new start. Others changed their name because they never wanted to be found again.
"The name doesn't sound familiar to me sir, but that sure does not mean he isn't there" Plwel responded back. "I will do everything I can to assist you in this investigation and complete our mission." With that, Plwel sat back and relaxed as they finished the short trip to the Rising Star.

GearBox stands at rigid attention on the flightdeck. He hears the roar of launching vipers and feels a trickle of sweat slide down the side of his face. He knows that somewhere out there, the Cylons are lurking, hoping to destroy all of humanity. GearBox hopes his CO, somebody, anybody, will give him directions and orders so he can join the fight.

Having stood at attention for hours with nobody even noticing him, GearBox was beginning to feel unappreciated. When he heard the claxons sound the alarm he glanced around, sure that somebody would point him in the direction he should be heading. When no did so, he sprinted to an empty Viper and launched himself into the cockpit. Flipping up the safety covers he toggled the switches that would ignite the main thruster units. He held in the priming activators until the engines ignited and then settled back into the seat, waiting for launch clearance from the bridge. "Bridge, this is GearBox in Viper 23-9, ready and requesting clearance for launch".......

Skyler had been to the Rising Star several times, mainly for inspection tours, but it was not often. Even off duty, Skyler was on the Callisto, in uniform and lurking around waiting for something to happen. He was really going to rely on Plwel here, since he had far more knowledge of the Rising Star and had interaction with her crew. He was hoping that Scapino, or whatever he was known by now was among them.
Once they had landed, Skyler hopped down from his Viper and waited for Plwel who was taxiing his Viper into the parking spot. They would check with the master of Rising Star first to find Scapino….

Logan looked down at her personal information pad and creased her brow in thought. Ensign Ione sat beside her, dutifully paying attention to the exchange between the Captain and Lt. Kalten.
Logan exhaled sharply and looked up again into the mysterious visitor's eyes. She thought she had read him correctly. He was a loyal Warrior and refused politely to give any further information on his mission. True to protocol. She had to admit to being impressed by the man. He was a credit to his uniform.
So far, all Kalten had said had checked out. The ship, his service record, the classified files on time displacement experiments. She hoped that Skyler would have more luck getting details from this Scapino person on the Rising Star.
Kalten still didn't seem to trust them which Logan found funny. Here he was working for a section of the Colonial Military that was doing experiments opening rifts in time and he couldn't seem to belive that they had actually worked. She couldn't really blame him though. If their situations were reversed, she probably wouldn't believe it either. And with the differences in the locations of the alleged laboratory and the Fleet in this time period, it was strange. Different times, different places.
She couldn't fault Kalten's reluctance to give further information on the laboratory. Military protocols hadn't really changed that much. And his insistence that he didn't know specifics as they were on a need to know basis rang true. But something was bothering Logan. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she would bet that Kalten knew more than he was letting on.
Sitting here, staring him down wasn't getting them anywhere. And she knew that Sheba would frown on any aggressive questioning. Not when they needed him to get their pilots back.
"Alright, Lt. Kalten. That should do it for now. Sit tight." She got up unceremoniously, with Ensign Ione scrambling to follow her, and left the room.
Once in the corridor, she nodded to the guards on duty and proceeded down the corridor holding the pad tightly in her hand, frustrated, but having no real reason for it. She was so lost in thought she didn't notice the tech who hastily replaced a panel, gathered his tools, and trailed her down the corridor.

Janey poked dejectedly at her plate of food. It was rich and tasted amazing, and under different circumstances she would have enjoyed it immensely. But as it stood....
"What do you suppose is happening?" she wondered aloud, glancing over at Dolet and finding him doing the same thing to his food.
"Fracked if I know" Dolet mumbled. "I don't know what's worse, not knowing what's going on, or this Lords-forsaken unisex turboflush." He pointed his fork toward the commode sitting in the corner.
Janey laughed, surprised at herself for doing so. There was little to laugh about in their current situation. Aside from food at regular intervals they had found themselves in complete isolation since their conversation had been bugged so long ago.
She stood up, set the food down, and began to pace.
"Pacing gets you nowhere...." Dolet said in a sort of sing-song voice.
"I'm working off the calories" Janey replied. Each time she started to pace he'd say the same thing, and each time she tried to have a different reason ready. It was a game, a dumb one but she'd come to cling to it when there was little else to hold on to.
It was Dolet's turn to laugh. "Of all people, you do not need to burn off calories."
She turned, stuck out a hip and turned her pacing into as slinky a walk as she could. "Like what you see, mister?" she breathed heavily. Dolet roared, and Janey broke out in a wide grin. They looked each other in the eye, and after a moment Dolet fell silent and Janey's grin disappeared.
She walked back to her cot and sat heavily, picking up the plate of food and poking disinterestedly at it's contents....

Red lights began to flash across the Viper's control panel and Gearbox saw the temp indicators were inching into the red. He toggled the switches into the powerdown mode and ran through a brief post-flight shut down. He sighed deeply and shook his head. He'd seen the other two Vipers launch and now he regretted being so hot headed and jumping into a Viper with authorization.
He glanced out the cockpit window and saw a crew cheif and somebody in an officer's uniform coming towards him. From the look on their faces he could tell they weren't happy. He wondered exactly how much trouble he'd gotten himself into.
He thumbed the canopy relief switch, and with a whoosh it opened. Gearbox took a deap breath and climbed out of the cockpit.

Ione walked in step beside Logan in the corridor. "What next, Captain?"
Until the girl had spoken, Logan had almost forgotten she was there. Being used to Brik and Skyler and their easy comraderie, Ione's quiet demeanor came as a surprise. It even seemed to her that Hush was more talkative. Although she realized that probably wasn't the case, Logan had just gotten used to reading him.
"I'm taking a quick duck through Beta Bay and Gold's Ready Room. With Major Skyler offship, Captain Brik will be there. He doesn't like using Skyler's office, so when he has to, he uses the Ready Room to hold court." She smiled at her own joke. Brik had a kingly manner about him and whenever he was in charge, it showed.
Ione didn't reply but kept step.
Logan knew that Sheba was probably speaking with Apollo right now, planning the best course of action. And Logan would bet every cubit she had that someone was going to end up going through that rift to find their pilots. After that, her imagination went wild.
Her personal comm unit beeped and she saw a message from the Bridge, but not for her. It was a general call. "Gold Squadron security detail, to Beta Bay. Gold Squadron security detail report to Beta Bay immediately."
What the frack NOW? They were just at the bay and Logan was glad it was her original destination. Saved her extra footsteps finding out what was happening that would entail security, and not just any security, but Gold Squadron. That never happened.
*********
Comeek was only a few steps behind his prey. It was getting more difficult to be patient as this infernal female wouldn't keep still. Or go back to her quarters. Or down a dark corridor by herself.
And now he saw them heading back to the bay they started from. He took deep breaths and considered his options. They were entering the bay in front of him and it looked like there was more activity than usual going on. He couldn't take the chance that someone would recognize him.
Logan would slip up eventually. And he could wait. He realized he had stopped in the doorway of the bay and was blocking it. Before anyone could come barging through, he slipped into the bay and disappeared through a door by the security station. His time rooting around the bowels of the Prison Barge had done him wonders. He had met several criminals who had much greater knowledge of the nooks and crannies of the Callisto than did he. And now he would put that information to work.

Logan sent Ione ahead to the Ready Room with the information they had squeezed out of Kalten, which wasn't much. There was a hustle of activity in the bay and Logan quickly spotted Crew Chief Gher in an agitated state, walking swiftly over the deck towards a Viper that was cycling down at an open launch tube.
Logan increased her speed to intersect him and almost had to jog to keep up with his pace. "What's news, Gher?"
"News? Some rookie from Black Squadron just jumped into a ship and decided he was launching, without authorization or even the good sense to see the ship he was comandeering had a leaky exhaust port. Lucky the thing didn't blow up!"
Logan was used to the techs getting intense over their ships, but she hadn't seen Gher this angry before. She decided on the spot, she'd stick with Gher. One bout of fisticuffs between crew was enough for one cycle.
She took the opportunity to ask Gher, "What do you know about this call to security for Gold?"
He shrugged, all his attention on the Viper ahead, whose canopy had just been disengaged and was lifting. "Another ship being escorted in. Don't know who it is, but I think this Ensign was supposed to launch to escort it. Only thing is, he jumped the gun and didn't go to the right ship."
It was a rookie mistake and she knew those infuriated the Chief. Another ship? What the frack is going on today?
