"Persephone," Logan said, turning to her wingman. "I have an important job for you." She hesitated as the girl stood up straighter, awaiting orders. "I need you to coordinate with the other shuttle team and get back to the Callisto to file an official report. Major Brie will want to know everything that happened on this mission and so will the Commander. If we have a resurgence of Pierce's followers to contend with, they need to know."
"But surely there can't be that many of them left?" Persephone seemed unsure whether she was being dismissed because of her performance or if Logan was being straight with her.
Logan and her wingman looked at each other in silence for a micron, then Logan extended her hand. "Can I count on you?"
"Yes, Lt." Persephone shook her hand.
As Persephone stepped to it, to make it over to the woman's quarters on the Prison Barge, she rubbed her tunic to feel the diamond pendant beneath it. She began to think that maybe it really was a truly lucky talisman. What a day to prove it's worth!
She suddenly felt the tiredness from the whole event creep over her. She fingered through her long hair, trying to recompose herself and her appearance.
She wondered about what Logan had said. Could there really be more followers of Pierce waiting in stealth, at the ready to pounce when the moment presented itself?
She had no time to waist, but to reach the other shuttle to inform the Major. It was her duty to convey her wingman's message, and she certainly didn't want another incident to arise when it came to these bilge rats. Even that description wasn't fit for them.

"Alright Brik, first things first...the mission is ALMOST over and you still have your duties!"
The very tired man in the now-battered Warrior's uniform hoped that his little self-pep would have the desired outcome. He supposed it did since he was walking, Janey not far behind and lost, for the moment, in her own thoughts. It was a certainty that all of them had earned a small mental respite and then some. Hmm...he had some leave time accumulated...
Walking through the corridors of the Prison Barge helped him to focus. LOGAN. HUSH. JANEY. He figured that he'd give Janey her private mental time and go over her medical needs shortly. She wasn't seriously injured so that was not the priority that it might have been on the last mission which was... Damn it. So much for focus. Luckily his training kicked in and he still knew what had to happen next and he turned toward the other shuttle bay to check on his friend and comrades.
And if they weren't ok he may have to find a blaster then pay a visit to some cells.

Ghim opened the samll door and entered the hall beyond. The guards ushered Comeek and Vreemer through, Logan and Hush close on their heels.
Logan was watching everything. Each movement that the prisoners made, every breath.
The hall was well-lit and smaller than the previous one, but just as dingy. There were two guards at the far end of a line of a dozen cell doors, stationed on either side of an old wooden desk. A small man with glasses and unkempt hair was seated at it and barely looked up as the battered looking prisoners and Warriors entered. The two guards made no attempt to hide their stares as they noted Logan and Hush's appearance. Hush's jaw was swollen and the right side of his face was red and angry. Logan knew she looked just as bad, with cuts and bruises on her face and her uniform shirt ripped halfway up her back and the majority of one sleeve missing.
The guards exchanged looks and returned to staring into the air in front of them.
Vreemer was escorted into the first cell on the left, unbound and the door locked behind him. The two guards who had taken him in nodded to Ghim and exited through the door they had just entered.
One of the guards flanking Comeek pushed him forward. Ghim stood in front of the next cell and cast a steely eye on the bruised and bloody Comeek as he entered the cell ahead of the final guard. Logan moved into the doorway to watch. She had to be sure for herself that he was here and not going anywhere. He stared right at her, not breaking her gaze as the guard untied his bonds. He nodded imperceptibly and Logan's eyes narrowed. She had a tingling along the base of her neck and the sudden urge to call out a warning.
But the moment passed and the guard backed away slowly. He walked out of the cell and the remaining guard, weapon still trained on the prisoner, seemed to be waiting for Logan to precede him out of the cell.
She didn't know what she expected, but Comeek's leering grin as he seated himself on the bunk set her nerves on edge. "We'll be together soon enough, my pet."
She had to fight down the urge to jump on him and throttle him into unconsciousness. She felt a hand on her back and knew Hush was there. The contact seemed to bring her back to her senses and she turned and left as Comeek's laughter followed her out of the room.

Brie's comm beeped, signifying and urgent message. "Excuse me for a micron," she said, glad for a break after what she had just said to Skyler. She got up and checked her computer. She returned a centon later, a smile of her face. "Well'" she started, sitting down and pulling her legs up again, "my request for the transfer has been accepted. I'm the new head of the Callisto Training Academy. Commander Sheba also has asked me to stay with Gold Squadron, as an advisor, at least through the transition period." She picked up her tea and took another sip. "If that's okay with you. Congratulations, Major Skyler. You've been elected the new CO of Gold Squadron."

Brie was slightly worried by Skyler's silence. Had she pushed her friend too far? She had spent the entire conversation talking about herself, without a thought of what she doing to Skyler. She knew how he felt about her, knew that the barrier that had kept them as only friends had now been removed, with other obstacles in its place. Would Skyler even want to be with her, since she was carrying another man's child? Would JustinB want to be with her once he found out that she wasn't as committed as she had first thought? What was best for the baby?
"Um," she said at last, "I really appreciate all that you've done for me the past few centars. But as you can see, I'm fine, I don't need a babysitter." She placed her mug on the table and stood up. "I haven't had a chance to get my mind around the fact that Turner's murderer has been put away, let alone everything else that's happened. I need some time alone, to think, and to bond with my baby. I hope you understand."

Skyler's mind hadn't hardly adjusted to Brie's words.... she admitted that she loved him too, now, the transfer and the Command all in the matter of centons.
"Um,"
Frack, he had been sitting just staring into space, trying to come to grips with everything.....
"I really appreciate all that you've done for me the past few centars. But as you can see, I'm fine, I don't need a babysitter." She placed her mug on the table and stood up. I hope you understand."
Skyler stood up and walked over to Brie...
"I understand, and I am sorry, all the news at once kind of spaced my brain for a few microns, wasn't really expecting that." he reached out and took her hand and looked into her eyes "Brie, you know I love you, and I want you to be happy. I know you have feelings for JustinB, and I don't want to come between the two of you, but its your choice. I don't need to tell you who I am rooting for though. You know how to reach me and where to find me if you need anything, and I mean anything I am here for you, always. You go get some rest and don't worry, I understand, and always will no matter what you decide."

"I know." Brie reached up and touched Skyler's face. "My protector." She looked deep into his eyes. They were drawn into a kiss, a kiss that they had both dreamed about for yahrens but had thought would never happen. "You'd better go," she said as she pulled away. "If you stay any longer I'm going to end up asking you to spend the night, and we both know that would be a mistake. I have to fly over to the Galactica in a few centars, but we'll talk when I get back." She kissed him quickly on the cheek. "I promise. And don't worry about us." Brie ran her hand over her stomach. "My daughter and I will be just fine."
"You think it's a girl?" Skyler asked.
Brie grinned. "Just a feeling. And I hope I'm right, because boys are a pain in the butt."

His soul poured out in that kiss, he had been holding it so long, he never wanted it to end. Brie pulled away and he fought every urge to hold her tight, to pull her back to him. It was the hardest thing he has ever had to do.
"You'd better go," she said as she pulled away. "If you stay any longer I'm going to end up asking you to spend the night, and we both know that would be a mistake. Brie grinned. "Just a feeling. And I hope I'm right, because boys are a pain in the butt."
“Why yes we are.” Skyler grinned “and you wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He forced himself to move towards the door. He really needed to leave, to give Brie time to rest. As he neared the door his comm unit beeped….
“Major Skyler report to Commander Sheba in the War Room in one centar…” Skyler reached over and hit the reply button sending a signal that he had received the message.
“Brie, get some rest and call me before you leave for the Galactica….”
The door opened and Skyler stepped backwards through it, never taking his eyes off of Brie. As the door slide close he leaned over, following it, keeping Brie in his sight until it closed……

Finally, Lieutenant Brik,Persephne thought to herself, glad to have found someone from the other shuttle.
"Lieutenant Brik?"she called out to him up ahead in the corridor.
He turned around to see her.
"I have a message from Lieutenan Logan".
Brik seemed anxious to hear what she had to say.

Mildly lost in his own thoughts about friends and girlfriends (he hoped that ALL would want to see him), Brik walked the artificial pathways of the grim vessel and vaguely wondered if he was going in the right direction.
"Lieutenant Brik?"
He took a couple of extra steps before his dazed brain and tired body registered his name being called and eventually agreed that he should stop walking. He turned slowly from sheer fatigue. He was softly pleased to see the new Lieutenant in one piece and he hoped that boded well for Logan and the rest of the team. Unconsciously avoiding the added work of speaking, Brik regarded her with a look of sincere curiosity and waited to see if she would understand.
"I have a message from Lieutenant Logan".
A message FROM Logan as opposed to a message ABOUT Logan. That meant that she was alive! Had he been less worn he might have hugged this latest addition to the squadron! However he still had the power to smile and did so broadly and without shame or reserve.
"Lieutenant, that's absolutely the best news that I've heard today!" She might grow slightly confused at his joy of hearing OF a message without knowing the contents of it but he didn't care, his friend was alive!"
He laughed honestly but quickly... "Well...Persephone isn't it? Let's have the message!"
